Monthly Bookkeeping & Reconciliation
Every transaction recorded, every account reconciled to the penny, every month — so your books always reflect reality and nothing slips through.
Bookkeeping for small businesses
You started your business to do the work you love — not to spend Sunday nights untangling receipts. I keep your books accurate, current, and tax-ready, and I explain everything in plain English. No jargon, no rushing, no judgment about how far behind you are.
Personal, one-on-one service — you always work directly with Patricia.
Meet Patricia
Hi, I'm Patricia Woods. I keep the books for small-business owners, solopreneurs, contractors, and local shops — the people who wear every hat in their business and shouldn't have to wear this one too.
I'm a Texan from start to finish: born in Dallas, raised on Colorado mountain winters from the age of nine, drawn to California once I'd shoveled my lifetime quota of snow, and finally back home to Texas — where I intend to stay. Moving that many times teaches you a useful skill: how to take a box of chaos, sort it, label it, and turn it into a home. That is, more or less, my entire job description.
Numbers are my happy place. I'm the person who hunts down a seventeen-cent discrepancy because "close enough" isn't how I work. But what my clients tell me they value most isn't the precision — it's the patience. I never rush you, I never talk down to you, and I'll explain your numbers as many times as it takes until they make sense.
When I'm not in a ledger, I'm usually writing — I'm an author with books of my own. Writing and bookkeeping are closer cousins than people think: both reward discipline, structure, and sweating every small detail until the whole thing reads clean. It also means that when I explain your finances, you get plain English from someone who works with words for a living.
The rest of my time belongs to my husband, a fishing rod, and every dog within petting distance — I've never met an animal I didn't like. Fishing taught me patience. Dogs taught me loyalty. My clients get the benefit of both.
“My job is to do what's best for you — not what's fastest for me. We go at your pace, always.” — Patricia Woods, Owner
Off the clock
What I handle
From the monthly rhythm of reconciliation to the one-time rescue of a messy backlog — pick what you need, or let's figure it out together on a free call.
Every transaction recorded, every account reconciled to the penny, every month — so your books always reflect reality and nothing slips through.
Bills paid on time, invoices sent and followed up, cash flow tracked — you get paid faster and never damage a vendor relationship by accident.
Clear monthly statements plus a plain-English walkthrough, so you always know how your business is really doing — not just what's in the bank today.
Your people paid correctly and on schedule, with the records kept tidy behind the scenes. Payday stops being a source of stress — for anyone.
Everything organized, labeled, and reconciled before your CPA ever asks. Filing gets faster, cheaper, and calmer — and nothing gets missed.
Months — or years — behind? No lectures here. I'll untangle the backlog, rebuild clean records, and get you current. It's my favorite kind of puzzle.
Set up right from day one — or fixed if it wasn't. Clean accounts, sensible categories, and a system you can actually understand and use.
That's completely normal — most of my clients weren't sure either. Tell me where things stand and we'll sort it out together.
Let's talk it throughWhy clients stay
There are plenty of bookkeepers. Here's what working with this one actually feels like.
Reconciled to the penny, every time. If something is off by seventeen cents, I will find out why. Your books will hold up to any scrutiny.
Questions get answered by me — not a ticket queue. When something's on your mind about your money, you'll never be left wondering.
We go at your pace. I'll explain anything as many times as you need, and I'll always do what's best for you — not what's quickest for me.
Sleep-at-night books: current, clean, and tax-ready. You focus on running the business — the financial worry moves off your desk onto mine.
How it works
No contracts to decode, no hoops to jump through. Three simple steps and your books are in good hands.
A relaxed, no-pressure conversation about your business and where your books stand today. Bring your questions — messy books welcome. No judgment, no obligation, no sales pitch.
You get a clear, plain-English proposal: exactly what I'll handle, how often, and what it costs. If catch-up work is needed first, I'll map that out too — no surprises, ever.
I take it from here. Your books stay current and reconciled, reports arrive like clockwork, and the receipt pile stops haunting you. That's the whole point.
Kind words
Sample testimonials — replace with real client quotes
I hadn't opened my books in over a year and I was too embarrassed to ask for help. Patricia never made me feel bad for a second — she just quietly fixed everything. I finally sleep at night.
Tax season used to mean panic and a shoebox of receipts. This year my CPA said it was the cleanest set of books he'd seen from a small business. That was all Patricia.
What I appreciate most is that she explains things until I actually understand them. I know exactly where my business stands every single month. I've never had that before.
Good questions
If your question isn't here, just ask — there's no such thing as a silly question about your own money.
It depends on the size and state of your books, which is why I never quote blind. After our free consultation you'll get a clear, flat monthly price in writing — no hourly meter running, no surprise invoices. If the scope ever changes, we talk about it first.
Yes — and you'd be surprised how many of my favorite clients started exactly there. Catch-up work is a specialty of mine, and there is no judgment here, ever. We'll untangle it one month at a time until you're current, and then keep you that way.
No — I make them love you. A bookkeeper keeps your records clean all year; your CPA uses those records to file your taxes. I hand your CPA a tidy, reconciled, fully organized package, which usually means faster filing and fewer billable hours on their end.
QuickBooks is my home turf — I set it up, clean it up, and manage it day to day. If you're on something else (or on a shoebox of receipts), tell me what you've got and we'll work out the best path. You don't need to have anything figured out before we talk.
Whatever works best for you. Most bookkeeping happens comfortably by email, phone, and secure file sharing. [EDIT: add your local option — e.g. "If you're in the Yourtown area, I'm always happy to meet over coffee."]
Completely. Your records are handled with strict confidentiality, shared only with people you authorize (like your CPA), and we'll set up a simple, secure way to exchange documents from day one. Your business stays your business.
Get started
Tell me a little about your business and where your books stand — even if the honest answer is "I have no idea." That's a perfectly good starting point, and you won't be judged for it here.
